Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

PALS is an AHA certified instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics, high quality BLS, pediatric cardiac arrest, immediate post-cardiac-arrest care and treating various cardiac arrhythmias based on identification of EKG rhythms. It also covers airway management, related pharmacology and various pediatric emergencies. This course can be taught to an individual student or students in large or small groups. In this course, skills are tested by presenting various case-based scenarios to students and students must show adequate knowledge of PALS care for patients and students must also pass a written exam at the end of course to successfully complete and receive an AHA PALS provider card.

PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment

All PALS students must take the PALS pre-course self assessment exam prior to scheduled class and get minimum 70% on exam. They must bring a printed copy of this result to their scheduled class day.

PALS training is intended for healthcare providers who leads or participates in the team responding to pediatric patient resuscitation in or out of the hospital, including:

  • Doctors.
  • Resident or Fellow Physicians.
  • Physician’s assistant.
  • Nurse Practitioners.
  • Nurses.
  • Paramedics.
  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).
  • Emergency/NICU staffs.
  • Any professionals who may respond to pediatric cardiac emergency.
